Why should I use Physician Executive Leadership Center to do my next physician executive search?

What is your search process?

We meet with you and talk with key administrative staff and medical leadership to gather information and create a strategy to effectively identify candidates to meet your unique needs.

Our search activity includes networking calls and letters to potential candidates, detailed interviews, referencing and credentialling. After we present the slate of candidates, we work closely with you through the interview and selection process. For more details on how we conduct a search, see our Step-by-Step Strategy page.


How long does the typical search process take?

After we agree about the specifics of the position and expectations for candidates, the search phase will take about eight weeks. Therefore, within two months, you will have in hand the detailed credentials and reference reports of a slate of candidates to consider for the position.

In the best of circumstances, first interviews will occur within two to four weeks after the presentation of candidates. A second visit with the final candidate and spouse three weeks later is ideal, with an offer tendered and accepted quickly thereafter. Allowing at least 60 days for candidate relocation, the whole process can be completed and a physician executive on board within six months.


How are your fees structured?

The fee for a successful placement is a percentage of the total first year full time salary. A retainer is charged at the time a search begins, with a monthly retainer thereafter until the position is filled or the full fee is paid. The retainers are included in the total fee as quoted. Travel and other search expenses are charged separately at cost.
