Suggestions For A Successful Interview

You may be an outstanding physician executive and have the best of credentials, but you still must make necessary preparations for your upcoming interview. Your credentials alone won't sell you.

You should take the responsibility to prepare yourself ahead of time, or your high expectations of what will occur during the interview may be shattered. There are many details to be attended to prior to and during the interview. This information provides suggestions based on our many years of experience in placing physicians in executive positions.

"Suggestions for a Successful Interview" addresses four critical considerations of interviewing:

  • Pre-interview preparation
  • The importance of appearance and grooming
  • Successful interviewing techniques
  • Post-interview expectations

The experienced interviewee should review these suggestions against his or her normal approach and make adjustments if necessary. The physician new to interviewing should carefully consider any major variation to these recommendations.
